The orthodontic assistants ensure our patients are comfortable and cared for throughout their appointment and their treatment.
Our orthodontic assistants all complete a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and some have a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, they also continue to do further training at various courses and are encouraged to do so. The Clinical Supervisor directs the staff throughout our busy morning and afternoon times and oversees the overall running of the clinic.

Emma joined South East Orthodontics in April 2014. She started her dental career in general dentistry in 2011, she completed her certificate III Dental Assisting at RMIT in 2012. Emma has just completed her Certificate IV in Radiography, also at RMIT. Since joining the clinic Emma has been trained in Photography, stock control , ordering and clinical coordinating. Emma primarily works chair side assisting the Orthodontists and Therapist as our clinical supervisor, however also has various roles within the practice which include, stock control, ordering and infection control. Outside of work Emma enjoys being active and spending times with her family and friends. South East Orthodontics is a vibrant and friendly workplace and she feel privileged to be a part of the team
Bec started her career in dental nursing in 2010. Bec completed her certificate III in dental assisting at RMIT in 2011, and she attained her certificate IV in dental radiography in 2015. Bec joined South East Orthodontics in January 2019 after having been a patient of the practice, which sparked her interest in the field of orthodontics. In Bec’s spare time she enjoys staying active, going away camping and spending time with her friends, family and her cat Smokey Joe.
Maree started working at South East Orthodontics in November 2018 as a trainee dental nurse. Maree loves assisting patients to achieve their best smile. Outside of work she loves spending time with her family, friends socialising and with her puppy dog Olive.
Jo joined South East Orthodontics in 2001. Jo has been working in the Dental profession for about 15 years. She completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2000. Jo’s main role at SEO has been as a clinical assistant. In 2005 Jo left on maternity leave to have her first child and has come back as a casual employee on and off over the years in between having a family. Outside of work Jo enjoys spending time with her husband, three young boys, her daughter and playing netball.
Elley joined the South East Orthodontics team in 2016. She commenced her dental career in 2010, completing a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, followed by a Certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2014. Elley has always enjoyed being involved and helping patients. Outside of work she enjoys being active and spending time with her partner Jai & daughter Sunny.
Teaghan joined South East orthodontics in 2015. Teaghan completed her Certificate III Dental Assisting at RMIT University in 2016. Teaghan has always had an interest in dental assisting and loves to be able to help make her patients smile. Outside of work Teaghan loves to socialise, spend time at the beach with her partner Nathan & daughter Indi and of course Puppy Bentley. Teaghan & her family are currently awaiting the arrival of baby No.2 & are very excited to see Indi become a big Sister in late 2020.
Arnesa has been part of South East Orthodontics since 2009. Arnesa attained her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2006. Arnesa works as a Receptionist and Dental Assistant. She enjoys working in the dental field because of the interaction with the patients. Arnesa enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her husband and children.
Bev has been with South East Orthodontics since 2008. Bev has been in the dental industry for over 25 years, working in General Dentistry, Endodontics and Orthodontics. Bev completed her Certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2012. Bev has transitioned from being a Dental Assistant into her current role as a Treatment Coordinator, working together with Dr Kip Homewood and as Dr Nishan Fernando’s Treatment Coordinator. You will meet Bev at initial appointments and consultations. Bev loves seeing the transformation that orthodontics produces. Bev is married with two daughters. Outside of work she loves Yoga, Meditation, Hiking with her husband, Reading, Crochet and Patchwork.
Franca has been with South East Orthodontics since 2007. She has been dental assisting for over 25yrs and has her Certificate III Dental Assisting. Her roles include clinical assistant/receptionist, management of clear sequential aligner cases (Invisalign and Spark Aligners) and deband correspondence. Franca enjoys interacting with people and loves the girls she works with. She has two sons and enjoys spending time with her large extended family and catching up with friends. In her spare time she likes decorating, pilates, listening to music and walking.
