Are you stuck at home and unable to visit the orthodontist? Is the orthodontist closed? Or maybe you’re on holiday?
Your orthodontist may be shut for a number of reasons and so it’s important to know how to fix some common emergencies by using our at-home techniques. It’s also important to make sure you have the following two readily available:
- Orthodontic wax
- Clean nail clippers
The next few blogs will be a part of this series and will show you how to handle common orthodontic issues at home.
In any of these at-home orthodontic situations, it’s important to contact your orthodontist and let them know so that they can organise it to be fixed on the next appointment. Please try to carry on as best you can with your orthodontic treatment while your orthodontist is closed.
But before we get into it, if your orthodontist is closed, it’s especially important that you adhere to the advice and only consume soft foods to reduce possible damage or breakages.
If you are suffering from any form of bleeding or swelling, call your orthodontist for advice as soon as possible. This is an emergency and will be dealt with!
Another great tip is to follow your orthodontist online as they will post updates about treatments and their clinic. You will be able to find out if your orthodontist is shut and the best ways to contact them easily.
