#8 – What to do if your aligner buttons or attachments break off?

These attachments, such as buttons are used to help move teeth in the correct direction by providing a firmer grip for the aligners, which is used to achieve the most efficient result.

It’s important to take care while brushing and flossing your teeth if you do have buttons, as they can come off if care is not taken.

My aligner buttons fell off!

If you were to lose a button which you were wearing an elastic on, stop elastic wear until further notice and notify your orthodontist.

If you are to lose a tooth coloured attachment continue wearing aligners as you were and notify the clinic.
